UPSC fact #71: In a village named Bharatpur, Radha, who was married to Heera Thakur, completed her IAS studies after becoming a mother. She left her village to prepare for UPSC, successfully passed the exam, and ended up becoming the collector of her own district. Radha’s father-in-law Thakur Bhanu Pratap, who previously disowned her and his son Heera because they got married against his will, was so impressed by her achievement that he accepted them.
