[Playlist] USFL 80's Interviews (33)
Description
Keith Jackson and Lynn Swann interviewed Oakland Invaders QB Fred Besana and Michigan Panthers signal caller Bobby Hebert during halftime of the 1983 Divisional Playoff game between the Blitz and Stars.
Both quarterbacks discuss the teams defenses they were going up against as well as the game plan for each team.
Keith Jackson started the interview by saying that Fred Besana went into private business after college because he was frustrated being a backup all the time. He had very little opportunities to show off his skills at the professional level but that in the USFL he has shined.
I mention this because it was kind of ironic two seasons later after this interview took place Besana became a backup to Hebert when the Invaders merged with the Michigan Panthers for the USFL's 1985 season.
