"Miami City Officials Agree to Have a USFL Team By 1986"
In March of 1984 Miami City Officials agreed during a city counsel meeting to field a USFL team by 1986 with an exhibition game scheduled for 1985.
Of course there was the issue of no new ownership stepping forward and the $150 million dollar three year renovation project needed for the Orange Bowl which the new USFL franchise would play in.
Investigative Reporter Tim Minton talked to the sports fans of Miami who were less than enthusiastic about a USFL franchise coming to town. They barely supported the Dolphins at the time.
